Dr. Ismael Khalil, Principal
Dr. Khalil is currently the Principal of Al-Mamoor School. He has been serving as an Adjunct Professor at Passaic County College and Montclair State University. Dr. Khalil is also a lecturer and a language trainer and has been a school principal since 1997 in the tri-state area. The following are some highlights of Dr. Khalil’s qualifications:

Sr. Cama Klicic, Assistant Principal
Sr. Cama has been in the education field for many years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from Queens College (CUNY). She continued her education and received a Master’s Degree in Education at Lehman College (CUNY). She is also certified to teach Kindergarten to 12th grade in the State of New York. Sr. Cama has over 11 years of teaching experience and 3 years of school administration experience. She has been with Al-Mamoor School for 10 years and is currently the Assistant Principal of the school.

Secretary—Sr. Sanjida
Sr. Sanjida is a recent graduate from York College City University of New York, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She possesses excellent administrative skills and has strong familiarity with The New York City school system. She enjoys being part of an administration that cares so much about its students and their success.

Pre-K—Sr. Amina
Sr. Amina graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Minor in Secondary Education from The City College of New York. Sr. Amina has previously worked with students and families in both public and private school settings. She is currently the Al-Mamoor School Pre – K teacher. She is currently pursuing her masters in Early Childhood Education at Lehman College CUNY.

Pre-K—Sr. Antoinette
Antoinette Weish is a first year PKA Teacher at Al-Mamoor School and second year teaching Pre-K. She acquired an Associate’s Degree from SUNY Empire State College, a Bachelor Degree of Science in Human Services Management from The University of Phoenix, and a Masters of Education in Early Childhood Education from Birth to Grade 3 is expected in 2016 from Grand Canyon University. Her background includes 15 years of Human Services Management working with non-profits and more than 10 years of teaching.

Kindergarten—Sr. Arfin
Sr. Arfin graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelors in Childhood Education. She has been the Kindergarten teacher at Al-Mamoor School for the past six years. Sr. Arfin enjoys teaching Kindergarten the most because she loves watching students’ progress through their early development years. Experiencing the growth of knowledge within them throughout the year and satisfactory completion of the requirements of this grade is one of her most important goals that gives her immense joy as a teacher.

1st Grade—Sr. Wardah
Sr. Wardah graduated from York College with a BA in English and Childhood Education. In the past taught at 82nd street Academics, Westchester Muslim Center and at various tutoring and counseling centers. She was also the Coordinator for a nonprofit organization called Muslim Giving Back that feeds the homeless in NY. She was the President of the Muslim Student Association at her college. She received an excellence in leadership award from her college on recognition for her work in student government and as the founder and president of Islamic Sisters Association.

2nd Grade—Sr. Amilah
Sr. Amilah has a Bachelor’s Degree in Childhood Education from The City College of New York. She is currently doing her Masters in Special Education at Queens College. This is her third year working at Al-Mamoor School and she is quite delighted to be your child’s second grade teacher. She hopes to work together to ensure your child’s success.

3rd Grade—Sr. Fatima
Sr. Fatima has a Master’s Degree in Childhood Education from Queen College (CUNY).  Sr. Fatima has two years of experience teaching. She believes that every child is entitled to an enriching education and respect. Her goal is to provide an inspiring environment that fosters confidence and encourages children to reach their full potential. She is truly excited to teach third grade this year at Al-Mamoor School.

4th grade—Sr. Sarah K
Sr. Sarah K is a graduate of Montclair State University, where she received her Bachelor’s degree in English and New Jersey K-5 Elementary Education Standard Certification. Sr. Sara K is also currently working towards her Masters in Special Education. Though this is her second year teaching at Al-Mamoor School, Sr. Sarah K has six years of experience teaching in a classroom.

5th grade—Sr. Adilah
Sr. Adilah is the 5th grade Math, Science, and Social Studies teacher. She is also the science teacher for 9th grade. Sr. Adilah double majored in Biology and Political Science, earning her Bachelor’s Degree in 2014. She enjoys teaching students and is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Studies.

6th grade—Sr. Ireen
Sr. Ireen is a Queens College Graduate whose interest in the field of teaching sprouted from her own elementary school experience in Brownsville, Brooklyn. This is her third year teaching at Al-Mamoor School. She loves teaching and has high expectations of her students. First grade is all about interactive learning, through class projects and innovative uses of technology in the classroom. Sr. Ireen hopes to help her students reach past our goals and take our school to new heights moving forward, InshaAllah.

7th grade—Sr. Sarah C
Sr. Sarah C is the Math teacher for grades 6-9 and the Earth Science teacher for grade 8. This is her second year as a teacher at Al-Mamoor School. Sr. Sarah graduated from The City College with a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Chemical Engineering. She also has a minor in Math. Sr. Sarah enjoys teaching Math and Science with humor and strives for her students’ success.

8th Grade – Sr. Nazia
Sr. Nazia is a graduate from CUNY Brooklyn College with a Bachelor’s Degree. She majored in Education with a concentration in English. She is a certified New York State teacher. Currently she is teaching ELA to middle school grades. She aims to empower and engage students through student-centered learning to help them achieve success in their life.

9th Grade—Sr. Elma
Sr. Elma teaches English Language Arts to 6th, 8th, and 9th grade as well as Islamic Studies. Sr. Elma graduated from Queens College with a Bachelor’s in English and Secondary Education. It is her sincere hope to be able to utilize and share the knowledge that she has gained during her own educational journey to her students. Her goal is to share with students her fascination of analyzing literature through an Islamic lens while being aligned with the Common Core State Standards so that the material they learn will be more meaningful to them in real life situations. She also wants to focus on test preparation for the New York State as well as the New York State Regents examinations in ELA.

10th Grade—Sr. Ayat
Sr. Ayat Soliman teaches Chemistry and Math. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Chemistry and Masters of Science in Health Care Administration. She teaches because it’s most effective and most enjoyable way to change the world.

Islamic Studies and Science—Br.Flanigan
Br. Flanigan graduated from CUNY Hunter College with a Bachelors in Biology. He has experience tutoring English as a second language.  His holistic approach in teaching involves fostering self-confidence, self-accountability, and motivational techniques within the classroom that will assist in optimizing student effort and properly preparing them for the rigor of the college setting.

Arabic Teacher—Sr. Mouna
Sister Mouna is the Arabic Teacher at Al Mamoor School. In addition, she is currently working with Berlitz Global Language Center and the ABC School as an Instructor of Arabic and French languages. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Studies from Ibn Tofail University and an additional diploma as an Executive Secretary from Maamora Specialized Institute of Applied Technology. She is fluent in Arabic and French.

Quran/Arabic Teacher—Sr. Falastine
Sr. Falastine is a graduate of the Islamic University in Jordan. She is the Arabic and Quran teacher here at Al-Mamoor School. Though she has over 24 years of experience in teaching, Sr. Falastine has been with Al-Mamoor School for 2 and half years now. Teaching the Arabic language to the non-Arabic speaker is such a joy for Sr. Falastine and she enjoys every moment of it!

Quran Teacher—Br. Salah
Br. Salah graduated from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. He has been teaching at Al-Mamoor School for two years now. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic studies in English and is also a Hafidh of the Quran. Br. Salah has learned rules of tajweed under supervision of Sheikh Fathallah Abu Samah in Egypt. He has also been working as an assistant Imam at Dar Al-Dawah Mosque in Astoria since January 2012.
