Dr. Ismael Khalil, Principal
Dr. Khalil is the Principal of Al-Mamoor School. He has been serving as a Professor at Passaic County College and Montclair State University. Dr. Khalil is also a lecturer and a language trainer and has been a school principal since 1997 in the tri-state area. The following are some highlights of Dr. Khalil’s qualifications:

Sr. Aram Suhail, Assistant Principal

Sr. Aram Suhail is currently the Assistant Principal of Al-Mamoor School. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Queens College. She continued her education at Adelphi University and has earned a Dual Master’s Degree in Elementary Education and Special Education. Sr. Aram has 8 years of teaching experience. She feels passionately about teaching students to become critical thinkers by promoting student interaction and hands on activities.

 

School Admin—Sr.Sanjida
Sr. Sanjida graduated from CUNY, York College, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She possesses excellent administrative skills and has strong familiarity with The New York City school system. She enjoys being part of an administration that cares so much about its students and their success. Sr. Sanjida is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in International Marketing.

 

Accountant Officer –-Sr. Halima

Sr. Halima has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and minor degree in Economics from Baruch College. She is currently the accountant of Al-Mamoor School. She has 4.5 years’ experience in taxation. She enjoys being a part of the Al-Mamoor family.

 

Guidance Counselor—Sr.Salma

Sr. Salma Waly has been an educator for 14 years. She is currently the Guidance Counselor of Al-Mamoor School. In addition to being an Adjunct Assistant Professor of Education at Hunter College, she is a literacy consultant, curriculum developer and a teacher trainer. She earned her PhD in Education from the University of Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania in 2015. She completed her Master’s Degree in TESOL from the American University in Cairo in 2008 and a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Dar Al-Hekma University in Jeddah, KSA.

 

Pre-K—Sr. Amina
Sr. Amina graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English and a Minor in Secondary Education from The City College of New York. Sr. Amina has previously worked with students and families in both public and private school settings. She is currently the Al-Mamoor School Pre – K teacher. She holds her master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Lehman College CUNY. She is a certified Early Childhood Teacher.

 

Pre-K Teacher Assistant- Sr. Sarah Marium

Sr. Sarah Marium has a Masters in Developmental Studies. She is currently the TA in Sr. Amina’s Pre-K class. This is her first year working at Al-Mamoor School.

 

Pre-K—Sr. Urwa

Sr. Urwa graduated Queens College as a Cum Laud with a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and a minor in Arabic. She has her Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Queens College. She has experience tutoring and teaching in public and non-profit schools. This is her third year teaching at Al-Mamoor School and is currently the Lead Teacher for Pre-K. She is delighted to have your child in her class!

 

Pre-K Teacher Assistant—Sr.Denas

Sr. Denas is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. Her goal is to pursue her Master’s in Early Childhood Education. She currently works with Sr. Urwa and is very passionate about teaching. She enjoys working with pre-k students.

 

Kindergarten—Sr.Arfin
Sr. Arfin graduated from St. John’s University with Bachelors in Childhood Education. She has been the Kindergarten teacher at Al-Mamoor School for the past six years. Sr. Arfin enjoys teaching Kindergarten the most because she loves watching students’ progress through their early development years. Experiencing the growth of knowledge within them throughout the year and satisfactory completion of the requirements of this grade is one of her most important goals that give her immense joy as a teacher.

 

Kindergarten—Sr. Sevana
Sr. Sevana graduated from St. John’s University with a Bachelor’s in English. She enjoys teaching and interacting with children, as well as watching them discover the world around them. Currently teaching Kindergarten this year, Sr. Sevana hopes to foster a lifelong connection to the academia. She aims to pursue her Master’s degree in the coming year.

 

Kindergarten Teacher Assistant—Sr.Shahana

Sr. Shahana has been working in Al-Mamoor School since 2003. She has a Bachelor’s in Social Science from Bangladesh. She enjoys working in Kindergarten.

 

1st Grade Teacher Assistant—Sr.Munjina

Sr. Munjina graduated from York College with Bachelors in Math and Minor Degree in English. She has been the first grade Teacher Assistant for the past 5 years at Al-Mamoor School.

 

2nd Grade—Sr.Layla

Sr. Layla graduated from Queens College with Bachelors in Psychology and minor in Sociology. She is currently attending Queens College for her Master’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis. She has been a teacher at Al-Mamoor School for 3 years. She is currently teaching 2nd grade at AL-Mamoor School.

 

3rd Grade—Sr.Eneshair

Sr. Eneshair graduated from SUNY Stony Brook with Bachelors in Biology. She has ten years of teaching experience. She strongly believes in student’s engagement, open communication and creating positive learning environment for all students.

 

4th Grade—Br.Ahmed

Br. Ahmed graduated from Hunter College with a Bachelor in English for Secondary Education. He will be attending Hunter College to complete his Master’s in Education. He is eager to work with Al-Mamoor School!

 

5th Grade—Sr.Amira

Sr. Amira graduated from CUNY Queens College with Bachelor in English and Political Science. She is currently attending Queens College to complete her Masters in Special Education and Elementary Education. She has been teaching at Al-Mamoor School for the past two years. Along with teaching social studies to the 5th and 8th grade students, she is also the 5th grade homeroom teacher.

 

6th Grade—Sr.Dania

Sr. Dania graduated from Queens College with Bachelors in Dietetics. She is passionate about teaching Science and Physical Education. Her students are her priority and she enjoys every moment of being a teacher.

 

7th Grade—Sr.Sereen

Sr. Sereen graduated from City College of New York with a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. This is her first year teaching at Al-Mamoor School. She is currently the 7th grade homeroom teacher and also teaches Science and Math to middle and high school students.

 

8th Grade—Sr.Hamidah

Sr. Hamidah has her Bachelor’s Degree in English from Queens College. She is currently attending Queens College to earn her Master’s Degree in Secondary Education. She is a certified English teacher for grades 7-12. She has been a teacher at Al-Mamoor for past 3 years. She teaches middle school ELA classes from grades 6-8. She looks forward to bringing a safe and fun classroom environment for her students.

 

9th Grade—Sr.Zena

Sr. Zena graduated from Queens College with double Bachelors in Neuroscience and Biology with a double major of Psychology and a minor in Chemistry.  She is currently the homeroom teacher for 9th grade and also teaches math and science to high school students.

 

10th Grade—Sr. Sumaia

Sr. Sumaia graduated from Hunter College with Bachelors in History and Adolescent Education. This is her second year teaching at Al-Mamoor School. This year she is teaching AP U.S. History and Islamic Studies.  Sr. Sumaia tires her best to make sure her classroom is a safe environment for students to have opportunities to express themselves.

 

11th Grade—Br.Zain

Br. Zain graduated from SUNY Old Westbury with a Bachelor in Biology. He is currently attending Queens College to obtain his Master’s Degree in Biology.  He teaches Math and Biology to high school students. This is his second year teaching at Al-Mamoor School. He is currently the 11th grade homeroom teacher.

 

12th Grade—Br.Luai

Br. Luai graduated from Brooklyn College with Bachelors in English and Management, and also earned certification from Cambridge University. He is currently seeking his Master’s degree from Columbia University in teaching English. He teaches English, AP English, and SAT English. This is his second year teaching at Al-Mamoor School. He is currently the 12th grade homeroom teacher.

 

Arabic Teacher—Sr. Mouna
Sister Mouna is the Arabic Teacher at Al Mamoor School. In addition, she is currently working with Berlitz Global Language Center and the ABC School as an Instructor of Arabic and French languages. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arabic Studies from Ibn Tofail University and an additional diploma as an Executive Secretary from Maamora Specialized Institute of Applied Technology. She is fluent in Arabic and French.

 

Quran/Arabic Teacher—Sr. Falastine
Sr. Falastine is a graduate of the Islamic University in Jordan. She is the Arabic and Quran teacher here at Al-Mamoor School. Though she has over 24 years of experience in teaching, Sr. Falastine has been with Al-Mamoor School for 3 and half years now. Teaching the Arabic language to the non-Arabic speaker is such a joy for Sr. Falastine and she enjoys every moment of it!

 

Quran Teacher—Br. Salah
Br. Salah graduated from Al-Azhar University in Cairo, Egypt. He has been teaching at Al-Mamoor School for two years now. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic studies in English and is also a Hafidh of the Quran. Br. Salah has learned rules of tajweed under supervision of Sheikh Fathallah Abu Samah in Egypt. He has also been working as an assistant Imam at Dar Al-Dawah Mosque in Astoria since January 2012.

 

Quran Teacher—Sr.Maha

Sr. Maha has Bachelors in Mathematics from Mustansria University, Iraq. This is her Second year teaching at Al-Mamoor School. Sr. Maha is a Quran Hafiz and currently teaches Quran to Elementary and Secondary school students.

 

Islamic Studies and Math Teacher – Sr. Haneen

Sr. Haneen has Bachelors in Business and Management. This is her second year working at Al-Mamoor. She currently teaches Islamic Studies to grades 3-7 and Math to grades 5-7.

 

Computer Teacher—Sr. Noor

Sr. Noor has Bachelors in Computer Science from International Islamic University, Pakistan. This is her second year teaching computer at Al-Mamoor School for grades K-6.
